I struggled with self learning how to make the incabloc springs work and after days and days of frustration, I finally gave up and just left the jewels in place. The Level 2 enhanced the learning experience because it involved the more complicated movement. Do not attempt the course if your floor is carpeted.
Plan on a lot of time on the floor with a magnet recovering bits and pieces that seem to fly away. The level 1 provided the pure basics and the beginning skills necessary to work the tools and deal with the very tiny parts. My understanding is that it'll give me a better understanding of the internals, but not to expect to become a watch maker.Īs a graduate, I now understand the basics of a movement and the internal components of the watch. Should be here this week (hoping it'll make through the storms) I just bought the tools and signed up for the Timezone course last week, waiting on the tools and movement.
